For those missing the unread background color, here are a few ways Echofon makes it easy to find the unread tweets:

- In general preferences set 'when new tweets arrive' to 'jump to unread'.
- Press command+J, or click the current tab, to jumpt straight to the first unread tweet.
- the darker border indicates the separation of unread/read tweets.

Echofon has been my favorite Twitter client. I've been using it instead of Tweetie since the beta Mac version was released. The primary advantage to me was the unread background color which easily let me identify the latest tweets in my stream. But your 1.0 release removed that feature. Why can't that still be an option?

I was excited and updated Echofon on my work computer. Now I truly regret it. :\

The free version is cool, etc, and the ads are very discrete and marked as yellow, they don't bother me at all. But I hated some UI changed you guys made. For example, new tweets are not marked with that pale blue, so I never know if I've read that tweet or not, the only visual cue is a thicker line below the first unread tweet. Let's not forget it sometimes download older tweets to the timeline, but now I can't quickly identify them. ALSO, if I want to dismiss the counter for unread tweets I can't click on the house/home icon...

I'm not a fan of the Tiger-dock-like black triangle marking the selected message either.

I'm gladly a 0.9.5 user at home, and I'll keep that way until I notice some positive changes on Echofon UI. 0.9.5 is my favourite twitter app, and I've moved from TWO other apps (which I paid for!) to Echofon full time. I hope I can keep using it. :\

For those who already paid for your iPhone app to support the product development this bothers me. Particularly when I've been using the desktop and iPhone clients and basically done beta testing for the desktop, this feels really insulting. I didn't even get a notice telling me I could continue to use the free beta and avoid upgrading, I didn't get a discounted bundle price, all I got was a bunch of ads.

It's really too bad you couldn't have been more connected to your users in order to handle this better.

You guys did a very nice app, even if I believe its price is a bit high if you compare it with other products that target a big audience as your product does.

I would buy it just because I like it and I feel comfortable with it, which means the previous version, because this new version is something I don't like.

This new release doesn't have a coloring customization, which is something I would expect. I would highly recommend you to add this feature to it, so that everybody can customize it as they feel better.

I liked the previous version better than the actual one, I like the old coloring and highlighting features and I'll tell you why.

Please go back to the old colors scheme:
- Highlight the actual tweet: because reading them with the arrow on the side not even close as comfortable as having it highlighted
- Different color for the yet not read tweets: the new 'line' is not intuitive at all, you need to pay a lot of attention to not miss it, just painful.

Um... sorry, but removal of the unread background shading makes echofon kind of useless. Actually, that's the very feature that got me to start using it! Bring it back and you'll have your twenty bucks; till then I'm not upgrading.

I've paid for this once on the iPhone, I won't pay again. Why have you taken away some of the features from the 0.9 version also? New tweets are no longer highlighted, clicking on the 'home' button doesn't mark tweets as read.
